- Job Title: Information Security Analyst
- Level & Responsibility: This role is at a Senior Manager level or equivalent. This role might be better known as Information Security Manager/Engineer in other businesses.
- Salary: £53k+ per annum, depending on experience plus a 10% bonus scheme

The role
The Information Security Analyst is responsible for safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organisation's information assets. By implementing robust security measures, conducting thorough risk assessments, and responding swiftly to security incidents, the Information Security Analyst plays a critical role in protecting the organisation from cyber threats and ensuring compliance with relevant information security standards and regulations. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of security awareness within SMG and serves as a key advisor on all matters related to information security.
We are seeking a diligent and proactive Information Security Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our information security systems to ensure the protection of our IT infrastructure from cyber threats. You will play a key role in identifying vulnerabilities, enforcing security policies, and responding to security incidents.

- Proficiency in various security technologies and tools, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
- Knowledge of programming languages and scripting for security automation and tool development.
- Excellent communication skills for articulating security risks and measures to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Teamwork and collaboration for working with various departments and external partners.
- Continuous learning to stay updated with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.
- Ethical judgement and integrity to handle sensitive information responsibly.

What you'll be doing
We pride ourselves on creating challenging and exciting opportunities, meaning that no two days are the same. However, here's an idea of what your responsibilities will look like:
- Monitor security access and perform security assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and risks.
- Develop and implement security measures and controls to protect systems against unauthorised access, modification, or destruction.
- Conduct regular security audits to ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
- Respond to and investigate security breaches or incidents, including impact analysis and recommendations for avoiding similar vulnerabilities.
- Maintain an understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to educate and train staff on information security standards, policies, and best practices.
- Assist in the development and updating of organization-wide information security policies and procedures.
- Manage security tools and technologies such as firewalls, anti-virus software, patch management systems, etc.
- Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers to ensure that security requirements are met.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and trends, as well as regulatory changes.
- Collaborate with the wider cyber security team to ensure SMG's risk score is in line with the group's security standards.
