The application
We're excited to get to review your application and that you want to join SMG. We will ask a few different questions as part of the application process, to better help us understand your suitability for the role. You'll be asked to upload your CV and have the option to attach a cover letter if you'd like to.
You'll enter our system as an anonymous CV, with a newly created hidden name, so that all we have to review is the important stuff! Your application will then be reviewed initially by our Talent team, followed by the hiring manager. Please keep an eye on your emails, as well as your junk or spam folders - you should always receive an email from us following your application, so if you haven't, please reach out to us.
The process
Once shortlisted, we'll want to get to know you better and understand whether you're a perfect match for this opportunity. Depending on the role, our recruitment process can differ slightly, but it usually goes like this:
- Someone from the Talent team or the hiring manager will have an informal telephone screening call with you, usually for around 15 minutes.
- We will invite you to a first interview which we try to keep relatively informal, so it allows you to share your authentic self. The hiring team will be looking to understand more about your experience and why you're interested in working with us.
- There will be a second interview which will last a little longer, and involve some form of task to showcase your ability to do the role.
- We then invite you to a meet & greet which is our final interview stage and an opportunity for you to meet some important people - this could either be a more senior member of the team or the colleagues you might work with on a day-to-day basis.
