- Level & Responsibility: This role is at a director level or equivalent and has responsibility over a portfolio of clients as well as being a senior figure in a large partnership. This role might be better known as an Agency Sales Director in other businesses.

The role
Joining one of our RMNs, for a leading Northern-based, UK retailer, you will create and manage relationships with the key Media Agencies operating in the UK.
As the first in the door, you will be responsible for building relationships with UK Media Agencies, engaging and educating them on the value of investing in Retail Media
Network you will be embedded in.
You will be responsible for securing new sources of investment from a variety of clients and industries including CPGs, Entertainment, Gaming, Finance and Travel. You will also help build a team around the agency effort to help scale incremental revenue efforts within the RMN.
You will have expert knowledge in media planning and buying and will use this knowledge to build strong relationships internally and externally; executing brilliant
campaigns with the Media Agencies in question.

Why you?

- The ability to adapt and work with multiple senior stakeholders (internal and external)
- Multiple years of experience working and operating in a client/sales capacity

- Experience in a client or customer-facing role with strong influencing skills

- Previous experience building/working in an existing retail media network is ideal but not essential.

What you'll be doing
We pride ourselves on creating challenging and exciting opportunities, meaning that no two days are the same. However, here's an idea of what your responsibilities will look like:
This is a newly defined role in the business. As such, the scope will be broad in nature but will include the following:
- UK Agency Engagement: Build and lead relationships with UK media agencies. Upskill and educate the agencies on the value of investing in retail media
- Commercial Leadership: You will be responsible for attracting a new source of investment outside of the traditional ‘trade’ pots associated with retail media. This will
come from a variety of sources including but not limited to:
1. Accessing incremental ‘brand’ budgets for CPGs, which agencies traditionally manage
2. Attracting new investment from clients in other contextually relevant industries (Entertainment, Gaming, Finance, and Travel, to name a few)
3. Building and securing data license agreements from media agencies to access the unique retailer first-party data
4. The right candidate will have Knowledge of the agency landscape, major players, operating models, commercial structure, and building trade agreements and joint
business plans
5. Constructing and negotiating the commercial deals ensuring they meet both the retailer and agency objectives
- Partner Management: You will be a key member of the RMN team, and will be a trusted advisor and expert to our key stakeholders both externally and internally at SMG. You will build strong relationships with the retail partner in question and use these to accelerate our efforts (and agitate change where needed) to build a
market-leading media estate.
You will help navigate agencies whilst being supported by our Innovation, Strategy and RMN leads. The successful candidate will lead on marketing efforts, training and PR for the RMN within the agency ecosystem.
