The role
We are looking for a Senior Marketing Executive to join our marketing team who will support in executing our Retail Media Network (RMN) partnerships marketing strategy to build brand fame for our RMN brands across owned, earned, and paid channels. You will work with our RMN in-house teams and retail partners to build and deliver a rolling calendar of best-in-class content for LinkedIn, award submissions, industry events (digital and physical), PR, and blogs. You will own the execution of this calendar, stay abreast of competitors in this growing market, and carve out space on SMG channels to tell our RMN brand stories, ensuring an obvious red thread tying our RMN brands back to SMG.

- A storyteller and excellent copywriter: This role requires a lot of content creation and storytelling. Think Marketing meets journalism - whether it’s writing blogs, creating website pages, or a schedule of LinkedIn content, we need someone who is an excellent copywriter and can navigate the world of retail media with style.
- LinkedIn: This role requires the running of LinkedIn channels - experience on LinkedIn and growing followership is an advantage.
- Eye for detail: Managing multiple brands means increased room for error - we need you to have a brand eye for detail to ensure all assets are mistake-free and on brand.
- Proactive: SMG is currently re-setting marketing across the group. This role offers an opportunity to set the direction of travel in this workstream. There is a real desire for the business to do more in this space and as such this role is perfect for anyone keen to go the extra mile.
- Use of Canva and design skills welcome.

What you'll be doing
We pride ourselves on creating challenging and exciting opportunities, meaning that no two days are the same. However, here's an idea of what your responsibilities will look like:
- Work with the Senior Marketing Manager to deliver the marketing strategy for our RMN partner brands.
- Research and analyse competitors (and the market) regularly to ensure we’re benchmarking our own activity against what’s topical and what good looks like.
- Write and deliver content for use in press, our blogs, and paid and organic social media plans (predominantly LinkedIn), leveraging teams around the business (and within our partner brands) to co-create with you.
- Carve out space to tell our RMN brand stories on the new SMG website and brief the studio on all creative assets, ensuring everything delivered for use is on brand.
- Manage the design and production of promotional materials beyond digital where needed i.e. print.
- Own our RMN calendar of thought leadership, co-creating with reps from our RMN brands where possible. Support in curating & writing thought leadership that’s genuinely valuable and disruptive in the market.
- Build a video-first content calendar and deliver on the agreed schedule, timestamping video footage from interviews and case studies to create promotional trailers.
- Oversee our RMN partner's attendance at events, such as trade shows and conferences: organise a calendar of attendance including ticket booking, and post-promotional activity (event write-ups).
- Deliver on our awards calendar and manage the entry process, ensuring deadlines and brief requirements are met; you will be writing a first draft of these for review.
- Support the Senior Marketing Manager with PR plans, highlighting the best of newsworthy stories from our RMN partners, collecting key quotes, and storytelling (copywriting) where needed.
- Help curate best-in-class case studies to showcase our best work in the market.
The process
- We will invite you to a first interview which we try to keep relatively informal, so it gives you the opportunity to share your authentic self. The hiring team will be looking to understand more about your experience and why you're interested in working with us.
- There will be a second interview which will last a little longer, and involve some form of task to showcase your ability to do the role.
- We then invite you to a meet & greet which is an opportunity for you to meet the team you'll be joining and ask them questions about the role and wider business.
