* This role can be based in London, Leeds, Liverpool or Bradford and will involve travel between the sites*
About the Role
We’re looking for an Insight Director to supercharge growth across multiple Retail Media Networks (RMNs). You’ll turn data into powerful stories, strategies, and results, driving impact for some of the biggest brands and retailers in the market.
Own the three pillars of Insight: delivering sharp campaign evaluations, transforming data into commercial advantage, and pushing the boundaries of innovation. You’ll be the trusted voice in the room with senior stakeholders—translating ambition into action and leading brilliant teams to deliver their best work.

A Little Bit About You
You’ll bring:
- Proven experience in insight, analytics, or strategy roles within media, retail, or related sectors
- Strong operational leadership skills, with the ability to embed efficiencies and drive automation in partnership with technical teams
- Strategic thinker with the ability to create frameworks that guide the evolution of insight propositions across retailers
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to influence senior decision-makers and build trusted partnerships
- Skilled storyteller with the ability to translate complex data into simple, compelling, and commercially impactful narratives
- Strong team leadership capability, able to coach, motivate, and develop individuals across multiple levels

What You’ll Be Doing
Your days will be dynamic. You might find yourself involved in:
Strategic leadership - Lead the charge in shaping insight strategy across retailer partnerships - building scalable frameworks, anticipating change, and driving SMG’s position as the go-to strategic partner in retail media.
Stakeholder management - Build powerful relationships with senior stakeholders, turning business goals into bold insight strategies that drive growth, influence decisions, and cement SMG as a trusted strategic partner.
Operational excellence - Drive excellence in campaign delivery, ensuring every evaluation is accurate, efficient, and impactful, while streamlining processes, championing automation, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement across RMNs.
Turning data into actionable insight - Deliver insight that drives decisions, turning data into powerful stories and clear recommendations that shape investment, elevate strategy, and set new standards for impactful storytelling and visualisation.
Innovation & future proofing - Shape the future of insight by unlocking new value through data, innovation, and technology. Driving platform evolution, championing experimentation and keeping SMG at the cutting edge of retail media.
Team leadership & development - Inspire and develop high-performing insight teams, providing clear direction, coaching, and empowerment to deliver exceptional work, grow with confidence, and set the standard for excellence across Retail Media Networks.
